About the event

From the invitation: This conference, Bodies and Boundaries in Irish and American Literature, will explore these themes in twentieth

and twenty-first century literature through the lens of literary geography and theories on space, place and embodiment. Indeed, by using the different approaches of literature and geography to “think beyond taken-for-granted categories, levels, and terms” (Hones, 688),

literary geography allows a discussion that redefines not only the genres but also how one experiences a text according to different spatialities and bodies. Keynote speakers: June Caldwell, Nessa Cronin, Emilie Pine, Heidi Lynn Staples, Sophie White
